What we collect

When you send us an enquiry through the contact form, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, and — if you choose to provide them — your company name and phone number, along with the service you are interested in and the content of your message. Our server also records the IP address the message was sent from, as a protection against automated abuse.

If you email or call us directly, we hold whatever information you choose to share in that correspondence.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics on this website, and the site does not load fonts, scripts or trackers from other companies. The only information stored in your browser is what is needed for the site to function.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To respond to your enquiry and discuss possible work. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you contacted us and expect a reply — and, where you become a client, performance of a contract.
• To keep our business records. Where we are required to keep records of correspondence and contracts, our basis is legal obligation.
• To protect the website from spam and abuse. Our basis is legitimate interests in keeping the service running.

We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell personal information.

Who sees it

Enquiries are delivered to a mailbox we control and are read only by people working for Expertest Consultancy Limited. Our website and email are hosted by our hosting provider, who processes the data on our behalf under contract. We do not transfer personal information outside the UK or European Economic Area except where our hosting provider does so under appropriate safeguards.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where we go on to work together, we keep records for as long as the relationship lasts and for six years afterwards, to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you; to have inaccurate information corrected; to ask us to delete it or restrict how we use it; to object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests; and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Security

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and enquiries are transmitted to our mailbox over an encrypted connection. We limit access to enquiry data to those who need it.
